BASIC RULES
1. No godmodding or powerplaying. It's the most basic of rules on any roleplaying site, but it still needs to be stated.
2. Be nice to your fellow roleplayers. It's okay to fight in character, but out of, you need to be polite and respectful to everyone else. No exceptions.
3. No excessive OOC chat in the IC boards. If you need to make a small note to the person you're roleplaying with, okay. Please mark it when you do so.
4. Please only create as many characters as you can handle at one time. It's such a tragedy when people make wonderful characters and never play them because they are preoccupied with their other characters. The suggested limit is 4 characters, but if you can keep them all active, 5 or 6 is acceptable.
5. Swearing is okay, as long as it isn't excessive.
6. Please no chatspeak. It's absolutely disgusting when used in roleplaying, and I know I'm not the only one annoyed by it.
7. Don't have your character in ten different places at once. Two or three is acceptable, especially if you're a very active roleplayer. But try to keep it to a minimum.
8. Make decently-sized posts. We all get phases of writers block every now and then, so a short post here and there is understandable. But sometimes it gets to a point where it's obvious that the writer just doesn't want to put in the detail. In that case, what's the point of roleplaying?
9. Post your character's description before anything else, and then wait for one of the admin to accept it. This is our way of keeping track of the characters. A kind of census, if you will.
10. Post in the coven boards after that. It doesn't need to be anything fancy; just a request to be a part of the coven. You will almost never be denied, unless that coven isn't accepting new additions at that time.
11. The vision of the vampire differs from person to person. In order to keep things consistant on the board, we have to make sure all aspects of the vampires are the same. Please see the section of the rules entitled "Definition of the Vampire".

IN CHARACTER RULES
1. Again, no godmodding or powerplaying. We all want to have fun, but there's no fun in controlling someone else's character. The fun of roleplaying is the unexpectedness of the other person's post.
2. This kind of goes along with rule one. Because we are playing vampires, it needs to be stated that your vampire cannot bite a human character without the creator's permission. It's just not fair. You also need to have Jessi's permission!
3. Your vampire can't change a human character into a vampire without the creator's permission as well. You also need to have Jessi's permission
4. It's okay if you play two of your characters in the same thread. However, you cannot use your vampire to change your human character to a vampire, or even bite your human character. Also, two of your characters, whether vampire or human, cannot fall in love. The reason for this is because it would limit your interaction with other characters, which destroys the point of roleplaying.
5. If your in a coven that has set requirements on their members, your character must abide by those requirements. If he/she doesn't, he/she will be subject to any punishment that the current leader sees fit.
6. Jessi has informed me that intercourse is going to be allowed on the site in specific moderation. The boards that allow these actions right now are The Underground of Club Skunk and The Cave, behind the waterfall under the Lake Board. The Underground also allows non-consentual intercourse, but be careful, the consequences on both ends can be dire. (PLEASE SEE THE SECTION OF RULES THAT APPLIES DIRECTLY TO THIS SUBJECT!)

DEFINITION OF THE VAMPIRE
Everyone knows the basics of vampire life: cold skin, unbeating heart, the overwhelming thirst for blood. But when you take a more in-depth look at the vampire myths, things can get confusing...
FAQ
What is a vampire?
A vampire is a creature that was once human, until a previously existant vampire drained all of his/her blood and then fed the victim from his/her own veins. The newborn then suffers through a painful rebirth, and if they survive, they awake from the rebirth with several new abilities and other adaptations. These include greatly heightened senses (especially eyesight), increased speed and strength, and ovewhelming beauty and grace. Along with these given strengths, they usually have one or two more unusual abilities, based on what their strongest aspects in life were.
Can vampires have children?
No. Both the sperm of male vampires and the eggs of female vampires are dead.
Can vampires have sex?
Oh, yes. =]
Do vampires have to kill to survive?
No. Only the most bloodthirsty vampires kill during feeding on a regular basis. Most of these vampires belong to the Kramos bloodline.

Myths
Fangs are retractable. Humans do not know about the existance of vampires unless a vampire chooses to reveal his/her identity.
The sun is not completely toxic to vampires, though if they remain in the sun too long, it may have pretty dire consequences. If a vampire has fed recently, chances are that they will last longer in the sunlight than a vampire who is hungry.
Bats and vampires don't actually have any correlation. Vampires are, however, often very close to cats.
Garlic, holy water, and crucifixes have no harmful effects on vampires.
Mirrors and film will both capture the image of a vampire, despite the myths that say otherwise.

COVEN OUTLINE
The Lafayette Coven
The Lafayette's are considered the "new age" vampires, and they are often called vegetarians. Their laws prohibit the use of humans for food. Instead, they feed off of large animals in the forest, and sometimes, if they are craving a more human taste, they may feed off of each other. Most of the members have never tasted a drop of human blood, due to the difficulty of making the change from fresh human blood to the stale-tasting blood of animals.
The Ashen Coven
Unlike the Lafayette's, the Ashen's (for the most part) do feed off of humans, but it is against their laws to kill a human for fun or for food unless the consequences absolutely require the kill. Ashen members usually feed inside Club Skunk, for the club has a number of "regulars," not referring to vampires that show up time and again, but rather, humans that regularly return for the sole pleasure of the connection that is created between a vampire and his/her victim during feeding. Many of the less social members feed off of bagged blood (human blood willingly given for such a use and transported in small, clear, plastic bags). Fresh blood, however, is much more flavorful than the bagged substitute.
The Delmos Coven
The Delmos's are anarchists. They believe that putting laws on the ways of life of vampires is unfair and unjustified. This makes for a wide range of appetites amongst their members. At the same time, there is a specific abundance of traditional, bloodthirsty vampires who believe in many of the same concepts as those in the Kramos Coven, but don't want to share the bad name the Coven receives.
The Kramos Coven
The main ideas of this coven are blood, sex, and pleasure. The laws of the coven are based on the laws set by their medeival ancestors. These laws prevent any of its members from feeding on anything other than fresh, human blood. Drinking the blood of animals is considered a sin on the same level as bestiality. Bagged blood is met with a wide dislike, mostly because of its "dead" taste. Old-fashioned rituals in which human life is sacrificed and their blood is taken are widely practiced.

Intercourse Rules
1. Any type of intercourse must be okay with both sides of the the character may not want it, that doesn't mean her creator doesn't have to either. Any disobedience to this rule will be answered with a fair punishment.
2. You may only have this type of thread on the boards that are so marked. Consentual is allowed in the Cave behind the Waterfall and the Underground of Club Skunk. Non-consentual is allowed ONLY in the Underground.
3. Only humanxhuman couples may reproduce on the site. Everything in a vampire's body is dead, including sperm and eggs.
4. If humanxhuman intercourse is forced, and the female decides to post for kin, there is a one in six chance she loses the baby due to the stress exerted on her body during the intercourse.
5. These boards are a PRIVILEGE. If they are abused, then the admin reserve the right to to remove them at anytime.
